Foundation Coffee House have four city centre sites where you can eat, drink and meet, with a freshly cooked brunch menu served all day, the finest coffee, cakes and cocktails – Foundation is here for you across the entire Manchester BSL Festival 2024. The 25% discount is available to everyone running, involved with, speaking at and visiting the Festival.

  • Grand opening of Manchester BSL Fest at 9am.
  • BSL Art and Film Night – see the Manchester premiere of ‘Signed Light’ and meet the artist, Martin Glover who will share his inspiration behind the light sculptures, and then see the film ‘Power in Our Hands’. Martin Glover and Claire Cummings will lead a post-film discussion. All for £5. To book your tickets, email Claire.
  • BSL Storytelling.  Come and see popular children’s stories brought to life visually by experienced BSL Storyteller Kate Tinston.  On Tuesday 23rd and Thursday 25th April in the iconic Central Library – details here.
  • BSL Comedy Night: Gavin Lilley and Queeny Deaffy Mary. Sold out. More details here.

  • BSL Party in the Park: Saturday 27th April – Cathedral Gardens.

  • The Promise, a Deafinitely Theatre production at HOME: 3 evening performances. Book your tickets here.
  • ‘My Hearing Mother’: a tour led in BSL and interpreted in English at Manchester Art Gallery. Unfortunately tickets are now sold out, but MAG may be open to repeating this tour in the future – tour details here.
  • The Deafening Truth – exhibition of Deaf History at Central Library from 1st April 2024 – free and open to all during library opening hours. Interested? More information available here.
  • Free taster BSL session with thanks to Central Library for hosting. Always wondered about learning BSL but weren’t sure? Book this free taster and see if it’s for you. 9am – 12.30pm at Central Library. To book a place, email: [email protected] and [email protected]. (Please email both of us as we will pick up emails at different times.)
  • Grand Opening of Manchester BSL Fest. Meet us at the love bee by Manchester Cathedral for photos and videos. We will then look at the exhibition in Central Library and grab a cuppa. No need to book, just turn up ready to join in the fun.
